Just a month on from an incredible Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan - we have already started turning our attention to France, and Rugby World Cup 2023. Gilbert Rugby will once again be the official ball of Rugby World Cup 2023, a year where Gilbert also celebrates it's 200 year anniversary.

The 2019 tournament ball design was comfortably our best, so far. Can we go one better in France? Challenge accepted!
We have set the bar high, but we are up to the challenge. Japan brought a wonderful culture and a rugby market steeped in opportunity. France brings with it a remarkable heritage and a fantastic rugby history.

As with each of the 7 previous Rugby World Cup tournaments we have had the pleasure of supplying, we will introduce a new match ball for RWC 2023. The match ball is already in planning and development stages and will not be introduced into International rugby until it has been fully tested over a prolonged period with our many professional players and global partners at the top of the game.

Andrew Challis, Global Brand Manager, commented: "Innovation has been at our core for nearly 200 years, developing new product for the world stage is an incredibly exciting project to be involved with and one that all at Gilbert are delighted to be trusted with by World Rugby."
