Gilbert Rugby Boot Technology - Explained
Every Gilbert rugby boot is designed for one game only: rugby. From the front-row battle at scrum time to a winger's sprint for the corner, each part of the boot has a job to do. Outsoles, uppers, footbeds and welds all carry their own names, and we know it can get confusing. So we've taken a deep dive into the technology in our latest boot range, alongside the tried-and-tested features from our recent ranges that are still helping players perform every weekend.
1. Outsoles: Where Grip Meets Power
The outsole is the base of every boot. It decides how well you grip the ground, how you spread your weight and how much power you can drive through contact.

Stud length matters too, especially on soft ground. Make sure you have the right set for the conditions by browsing our full range of replacement rugby studs. Always tighten new studs before your first session.
