There will TWO all Gilbert derbies in the Quarter Finals of the National Schools U18 Cup this week as the cream of the crop in schools rugby do battle.
Another year of fierce competition hits the business end, with big-name schools and their future stars ready to etch their names in history.
Long-time Gilbert ambassador schools Warwick School
and Rugby School face off on Wednesday in a must-see fixture.
Warwick will be aiming for a record hat-trick of titles, having been crowned U18 National Cup champions in 2017 and 2018. They overcame Uppingham in the last round.
Rugby School kicked a last-minute penalty in the previous round to beat Norwich School. Member of the Rugby School coaching staff Sam Pointon says his team are ready.
"Rugby School are buzzing with excitement for the Midlands quarter-final clash against Warwick on Wednesday. The XV has had a relatively strong and successful season and demonstrated some skilful and fast-flowing rugby. It will likely be our toughest challenge of the season, however, if we stick to our brand of Rugby Football then we stand a great chance of coming away victorious."
Woodhouse Grove School
takes on Wirral Grammar School for Boys
in another all Gilbert Quarter Final. Woodhouse Grove School has had an impressive season to date, overcoming RGS Newcastle in a tense round of 16 fixture. Wirral GS reached the ¼ finals through a last-gasp score to overcome Wilmslow GS.
The Final of the Schools Cup will as ever be played at the home of English rugby, Twickenham.
All four teams will be wearing their Pro Premium Match Shirts by Gilbert. If your school or club is looking to up their teamwear game, get in touch with us through social media or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
