The UK’s only independent women’s rugby team, Warriors Women RFC, has agreed a multi-year deal with leading rugby sports equipment manufacturing brand, Gilbert Rugby.
The partnership will see the brand, which is owned by Grays International, provide the Midlands-based team with a range of women’s specific clothing and equipment, including playing kit, training kit, balls and more.
The 23/24 season marks an exciting time for the Warriors as they stand proudly as an independent entity in the Allianz Premier 15s, without the support of a men’s side.
Jon Graham, Managing Director at Warriors Women RFC, said: “It’s great to be able to announce our exciting partnership with Gilbert. Working with a brand so synonymous with rugby is something that I’m sure will only excite our fans. It’s been a breath of fresh air working with Gilbert and has proved their commitment to the women’s game is undeniable.”
Sarah Robertson, Women’s Sport Lead at Gilbert Rugby, said: “We’re delighted to announce this partnership ahead of the revamped Premiership Women’s Rugby competition this season. With the launch of the new Women’s WXV competition in October and a home Rugby World Cup in England in 2025, there is no better time to begin our new collaboration with Warriors.
“The women’s game continues to go from strength to strength and to partner with one of the leading domestic teams in England further emphasises Gilbert’s commitment to support the growth of women’s sport. We’re looking forward to working with the Warriors players to develop our current and new ranges to ensure we provide the best female specific kit for players at all levels of rugby.”
Warriors Women RFC will be announcing the launch of both the new kit and season tickets very soon and fans are urged to keep an eye on the website and social media channels for updates.
