100 days to go until Rugby World Cup 2019 kicks off and with such a global presence already, the tournament and the game of rugby are being introduced into the lives of millions from across the globe.
One of the aims of the RWC 2019 is to ensure it is the most accessible and affordable RWC in modern history. With this, it is estimated that 23.9% of visiting fans will be English, 15.6% Australian, 7.9% Irish, 4.6% from the USA and 2.5% from the Netherlands. Fans are even travelling from Antarctica, demonstrating the impact the RWC 2019 has had bringing together countries from all corners of the globe.
International Trophy Tour
By touring the globe with the Webb Ellis Cup, people from 19 countries have been able to see the famous Trophy – more than ever before. Finishing in Argentina, the year and a half tour has been a spectacular way to raise awareness for the tournament. From here the domestic tour will take place in the 12 host cities, Kyoto and Hiroshima, in Japan.
