The Guinness PRO14 Final takes place at Celtic Park on Saturday, May 25 and Gilbert Rugby have designed a special edition Gilbert Match XV ball with a bespoke Guinness Pro 14 Finals tartan trim and gold panels to mark the occasion, set outside rugby-specific stadia for the first time ever.
This year’s final returns to Scotland for the first time since 2016 and after last year’s record attendance in Dublin, this final is set to be bigger and better than ever.
As well as being the optimum rugby ball for the elite level game, the Gilbert Match XV Rugby Ball is the Official Match Ball for the showpiece event and the same ball with the midnight black design has been used throughout the 2018/19 PRO14 campaign.
With a Copolymer 'Air loc' bladder for enhanced air retention and energy transfer, this new ball is clearly designed specifically for elite level sport. The dual height pimples and Multi Matrix 3D grip with star shapes maximizes surface area providing optimal handling skills and kicking ability. As well as this the ball has a G-XV rubber compound surface and is immediately ready for match play from the first kick.
To increase accuracy, the patented Gilbert Ellipse Truflight valve redistributes weight along the seams of the ball to improve rotational stability and the use of high-quality internal laminates ensures optimal energy transfer between boot and ball to improve strike consistency.
