Based in Johannesburg, The Lions have always been centred around the Golden Lions. The Lions are part of the current crop of South African Super 14 teams, but were also part of the Super 12. Since the Cheetahs were innaugaurated into the Super 14 in 2006, the Lions have begun to find it hard going and have found themselves struggling towards the bottom of the Super 14, but after signing with GILBERT they will be hoping to have a change of fortunes and join the immensely successfull GILBERT sponsored, Blue Bulls near the top of the Super 14! |
