General Info: A product of the Tigers Academy, Sam made more first-team appearances than any other Leicester player in the 2006/07 season. The former pupil of John Cleveland College started 25 games and appeared on seven occasions as a replacement as he played his part in Tigers march to the finals of all three domestic and European competitions. Sam recently reached the milestone of 100 starts for Leicester Tigers since his debut against Biarritz in the Orange Cup in August 2002. Although he is yet to be capped at senior international level, Sam has deservedly won representative honours with England U-18s, U-21s and the England Saxons. He was part of the England squad that competed in the IRB U-21 World Championship in South Africa during the summer of 2002, before going on to win both the supporters’ and players’ awards for Young Player of the Year at Tigers later that season. After a fantastic second half of the 2008/09 season Sam got his first call-up to the England squad and made his debut as a late replacement against Argentina at Old Trafford.
