| General Info: | Lewis was selected for World Cup duty with England in 2007 – his second successive World Cup after playing a vital role in the squad that returned home victorious from Australia four years earlier. Lewis was closing in on 50 international caps at the start of the tournament, having also represented his country at Schools, U-18, Colts and U-21 level, as well as winning two Test caps on the British and Irish Lions tour of New Zealand in 2005. Lewis made his Tigers debut against GILBERT sponsored Scottish side Boroughmuir in August 1996 and has since made over 180 appearances for the first-team, scoring 30 tries in the process. He became the youngest Tiger to feature in a league game and is now in his 12th season as first-team squad member He is a five-time league title winner and three-time Heineken Cup finalist with Leicester since his arrival from Oakham School and played in 20 games for Tigers last season, making 19 starts. His seven tries in 2006/07 included a hat-trick home clash with Bourgoin in the Heineken Cup pool stages. | |
